Tlogowaru is not popular for me. It’s the new place to adventure. Yeah of course because I’m the new one who stay in Malang. Madiun is my hometown which 6 hours from here. It’s not short enough time to pass through. When I got this project I just say “WOW” in my mind.
It's the first time for me to go around tlogowaru. I already
did it twice only for english project. Finally I found a historical place, “Bumi Perkemahan Hamid
Rusdi”. This place is located in Wonokoyo tlogowaru. At the first time, I and
my friends wanted to go to a temple. How pity we were, because we walked in the
wrong way. several minutes later, I saw a statue.
Do you know? Hamid Rusdi is one of the most important heroes. His life was ended due to dutch attack. His struggle will be remembered forever. He was shot in the riverside. He struggled to defend Malang till his death. his strategy was "guerrilla". March 8th 1949,he and five others heroes buried in Wonokoyo. As the result, his dedication was immortalized as a statue and the name of some places in Malang. one of place is campsite in Tlogowaru. It's such like a large field.
It's looked like usual village. nothing special exist there, but when you are entering this village you will see unexpected place. Just like what I said before, how green and large this place will make a cool sense. Hamid Rusdi Campsite is leafy and moist.
There is a endorsement shaft. It was signed by Mayor of Malang several years ago.
Unfortunately this place is less touchable. Whereas, it was potentially used for beneficial activities, especially for students. I read one of website. the website told me that government of Malang City will improve Hamid Rusdi Campsite in Wonokoyo, Tlogowaru. they prepared the budget in APBD to improve the facilities.
I hope this place can be exposed, so it can be used well.
